Content Strategist (Contract)
About The Role:
We’re growing our digital presence and looking for a Content Strategist to help us do it intentionally, strategically, and with serious impact.
This role is designed for someone who thrives in collaboration and understands how to turn bold ideas into structured, platform-specific strategy. We’re not looking for content execution support (at least not yet). We’re looking for a thought partner who can help shape the blueprint behind what we share, when we share it, and why it matters.
The ideal candidate is innovative, quick-thinking, and confident in offering insight. You understand audience behavior. You can look at metrics and translate them into meaningful next steps.
If you love building structure around strong voices and helping mission-driven brands show up with purpose, this role was built for you.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with the Founder to develop and execute a cross-platform content strategy across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Threads, and future platforms.
Build and maintain a rolling content calendar that balances timely topics, evergreen content, campaigns, and cultural moments.
Edit short-form videos using CapCut (or similar software), incorporating captions, graphics, transitions, sound effects, and pacing that improve viewer retention and engagement.
Design visually engaging carousel posts and branded graphics in Canva that align with BCC'd HR's visual identity and messaging.
Ensure content is published consistently and according to the agreed content schedule, proactively communicating any anticipated delays or blockers.
Monitor platform analytics and performance trends, identifying what content is resonating, where opportunities exist, and recommendations for future optimization.
Lead content strategy and analytics meetings with the Founder to review performance, discuss insights, prioritize upcoming content, and identify opportunities for experimentation.
Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, algorithm changes, and cultural conversations, proactively recommending relevant content ideas, memes, and timely opportunities that align with the BCC'd HR brand.
Brainstorm and develop creative concepts that balance educational value, humor, storytelling, and relatability while maintaining the brand's credibility.
Organize and maintain content assets, templates, and workflows within Notion, Canva, and other collaboration tools to create an efficient production process.
Collaborate with the Founder during scheduled in-person content creation sessions to batch film videos, refine messaging, and streamline production.
Identify opportunities to repurpose existing content across multiple platforms to maximize reach and efficiency.
Recommend improvements to workflows, systems, and content processes that create greater consistency, organization, and scalability as the business continues to grow.
What We’re Looking For:
3+ years of experience in content strategy, social media marketing, or digital storytelling.
A portfolio that demonstrates strategic thinking—not just polished posts. We'd love to see content calendars, campaigns, carousels, short-form video concepts, or examples that show how you think.
Strong creative eye and aesthetic sensibility—you know the difference between content that's simply "pretty" and content that drives engagement.
Proficient in Canva, CapCut, and AI-powered tools that streamline content creation and creative workflows.
Experience supporting founder-led brands, service-based businesses, advocacy organizations, or mission-driven companies is highly preferred.
Deep understanding of Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Threads—including platform nuances, algorithm shifts, audience behavior, and best practices.
Strong understanding of analytics and performance metrics, with the ability to identify trends, evaluate what's working, and recommend strategic improvements.
Highly organized with exceptional project management skills—you naturally create structure, stay ahead of deadlines, and keep content moving without constant follow-up.
Able to work efficiently and produce high-quality work within agreed timelines while balancing multiple priorities.
Comfortable turning scattered ideas into clear content plans, workflows, and actionable next steps.
Proactive, resourceful, and confident making recommendations—we're looking for someone who brings solutions, not just executes tasks.
Comfortable giving and receiving direct feedback. Healthy collaboration and honest conversations are part of how we work.
Passionate about culture, storytelling, and creating content that educates, challenges perspectives, and gets people talking.
Comfortable working with a fast-moving founder who has a lot of ideas—you enjoy bringing order to creative chaos and transforming vision into an actionable content strategy.
Additional Information:
The monthly rate for this position is $500/month with a cap of up to 20 hours per month. If fewer hours are needed, that’s perfectly fine, we’re focused on output and alignment, not clock-watching.
Hours are flexible, and you’re free to set your own schedule, as long as there’s room for collaboration with the Founder when needed.
Contracts are renewed on a month-to-month basis based on mutual fit and workflow.
BCC’d HR also reserves the right to adjust the monthly rate with notice, though our goal is to stick within budget while making sure it’s a win-win for everyone involved.
This is a freelance/independent contractor position, not an employment relationship (1099). The successful candidate will be responsible for their own taxes and will work independently.
Equal Opportunity: BCC’d HR is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
