Content Strategist (Contract)

About The Role:

We’re growing our digital presence and looking for a Content Strategist to help us do it intentionally, strategically, and with serious impact.

This role is designed for someone who thrives in collaboration and understands how to turn bold ideas into structured, platform-specific strategy. We’re not looking for content execution support (at least not yet). We’re looking for a thought partner who can help shape the blueprint behind what we share, when we share it, and why it matters.

The ideal candidate is innovative, quick-thinking, and confident in offering insight. You understand audience behavior. You can look at metrics and translate them into meaningful next steps.

If you love building structure around strong voices and helping mission-driven brands show up with purpose, this role was built for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate monthly with the Founder to build a cross-platform content plan (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Threads, etc.)

  • Create a monthly content calendar with suggested dates, formats, themes, and batching windows for production

  • Pitch reoccurring series, content angles, and campaign ideas tied to timely topics, HR themes, and cultural moments

  • Help outline talking points and short-form scripts for video content (Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts, etc.)

  • Support light editing (CapCut or similar) to ensure content is clean, uniform, and on-brand

  • Spot and suggest ways to elevate content — identifying what feels premium vs. what feels played out

  • Provide creative input on post structure, caption flow, visual layout, and design tone

  • Execute clean, polished designs using Canva and branded templates

  • Maintain a consistent visual and storytelling rhythm across content pillars

  • Capture scattered ideas from the Founder and shape them into story Thread, post series, or branded messaging

  • Stay up-to-date on social platform shifts and recommend strategic adjustments as needed

  • Participate in monthly content check-ins to review performance and optimize

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3+ years of experience in content strategy, planning, or social-first storytelling

  • A portfolio that proves you’ve done more than post — we want to see concept work, calendars, carousels, video scripts, or anything that shows how your brain works (link required!)

  • Strong creative eye and aesthetic sensibility — you can spot the difference between high-impact content and generic ideas.

  • Comfortable using tools like Canva, CapCut, and AI platforms to streamline and elevate content

  • Experience with small brands, founder-led businesses, advocacy work, or people-first orgs is a big plus

  • Deep understanding of platform nuances (especially LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram & Threads), and how to tailor content across each

  • Obsessed with what’s relevant: from trending audio and visual design to cultural moments and algorithm shifts

  • Fast thinker with strong attention to detail — you can capture scattered ideas, turn them into outlines, and build structure fast

  • Organized content brain — calendars are your love language and you know how to keep a content pipeline flowing

  • Comfortable with feedback, direct conversation, and giving strategic input — we’re not here to sugarcoat!

Additional Information:

  • The monthly rate for this position is $500/month with a cap of up to 20 hours per month. If fewer hours are needed, that’s perfectly fine, we’re focused on output and alignment, not clock-watching.

  • Hours are flexible, and you’re free to set your own schedule, as long as there’s room for collaboration with the Founder when needed.

  • Contracts are renewed on a month-to-month basis based on mutual fit and workflow.

  • BCC’d HR also reserves the right to adjust the monthly rate with notice, though our goal is to stick within budget while making sure it’s a win-win for everyone involved.

  • This is a freelance/independent contractor position, not an employment relationship (1099). The successful candidate will be responsible for their own taxes and will work independently.

Equal Opportunity: BCC’d HR is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
